Kelly Scientific Resources - Workforce Index

A recent Kelly Scientific Resources survey revealed that there is a widespread desire for more meaningful roles in the workplace. In fact, more than half (54%) of those surveyed from the scientific community are willing to accept a lower wage or a lesser role if their work contributes to something ‘more important or meaningful.’

• 90% of respondents say that their work gives them a sense of pride
• 81% say the work they perform raises their self-confidence
• 60% say they plan to look for a new job with another organization within the next year
• 35% say their career goals are not being advanced through their current job
• 20% say that if they could start again they would not choose the same field of work
